PMCL Lab Policy

Lab Policy

Does the PMCL have any rules?

Yes. They are:
  • Do NOT touch the monitor screens.
  • Clean up any mess you create.
  • No games when the lab is busy.
  • Machines may not be locked for more than one hour.

Can I use the phone?

Yes, the phone is available for anyone to use. We do ask, though, that you adhere to the following:

  • Keep your conversation under two minutes.
  • Switch to line 2 for your call.
  • Do not remove the phone base from the proctor's desk.
  • This phone is not to be used to receive calls.

For on campus calls, just dial the last five digits of the phone number.  For an outside call, dial 9, then the phone number.

For long distance calls, you must have a toll-free or local phone card that you can use. Otherwise, you will have to make a collect call.

Can I play games in the lab?

If the lab is not busy, then games will be allowed. However, if the lab becomes crowded or full, then the people playing games will be asked to logoff.

What happens when the lab gets full?

When the lab is full, you may enter your IF into the waitlist machine located just into the doors. The list viewer next to it will show you where you are assigned to when a machine becomes available. If you have a problem getting on the waiting list, ask a proctor for help

Note : When the lab is this busy, those users playing games will asked to quit the game or log off the machine.
