Frequently Asked Questions:
Where is the PMCL?
The PMCL is located in RLM 7.306, Robert Lee Moore Hall, at the southeast corner of Speedway and 26th. Once in RLM take the escalators to the top. When you get off the escalators, turn right and head down the hallway with the water fountain. Turn left past the fountain to the end of the hall and follow the sign. We're in the third set of doors on your left. Show/Hide Map
Can I print?
Probably.
Physics majors, grad students, professors, and students currently enrolled in physics classes are able to print in the PMCL. For more info about printing limits and options for those who don't fit in any of the above categories, click here.
Where is the stapler?
The PMCL stapler is located on the proctor desk on your right as you enter the lab.

| There it is! | Insert the paper straight, not diagonally. |
The PMCL stapler will staple up to 60 pages. If you shove in too much paper, it may decide not to let go. So please don't staple too many sheets at once.
If you aren't sure whether the stapler will be able to handle it, ask one of your friendly proctors and they'll help you out.
Where is the scanner?
It's beside the computer far to the back of the room, next to that ominous looking door.
Can I use the phone?
Yes, you may use the phone. However, please:
- Switch to line 2.
- Keep your conversation under two minutes.
- Be reasonable. We're sitting two feet away from you.
For campus calls, just dial the last five digits of the phone number. To call a local number outside the university, dial 9, then the phone number. No long distance calls. I mean, come on. As long as you're not trying to call Sweden or Singapore or something, one of our proctors would probably be happy to assist you with one of their cell phones.
Can I install or save applications and files?
Unfortunately, if we allow people to store files or install applications on local computers, we end up with WeatherBug in our system tray, 5 instances of Kiwi Casino running in the background, and home pages about how to increase our measurements. It's a security issue.
Use a flash or removable hard drive, or email the files to yourself. The University also provides students with free webspace.
